Calling all Japanese Christian musicians!

In putting together the band I wanted to make sure that there was a mixture of American and Japanese influences, but at the same time the members all need to be believers since our purpose is ministry-kinda makes sense doesn't it? That a Christian band whose focus is on ministry would have saved Christians within it's ranks. Well, we already have the rhythem guitarist (me, since I will never be good enough to be lead), and the drummer. Both American, so what I would like to find now is a saved Japanese to play lead guitar, one to play keyboards, and one to play Bass-also the abilty to do lead/harmony and backing vocals would be a plus! Note to potential keyboard players-you gotta know how to play the harpsichord-or at least be willing to learn (gotta have a harpsichord) Be prepared to wrk for little of nothing to since we are in the midst of taking baby steps-LOL. The music!

Well, I told you that in different blogs I would describe each avenue of FLWM, and how we intend to use these things in ministry. First I want to tell you about the record lable. It is going to be putting out Christian rock, contemporary, and maybe even some hip-hop. Right now we only have one band signed to the lable-mine. I have writtten the first album (yes I am one of those who still call them albums) It is a concept album with 17 songs on it, haven't recorded anything yet as I am still trying to put the actual band together (hey I said we were taking baby steps didn't I?) How to describe the groups sound: Take 70% Electric Light Orchestra, 22% Pink Floyd, and 8% Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and I would say you have a clear idea of the bands sound! I intend to record it in English and Japanese-although I don't see much happening with it in the states, it is aimed at the japanese people and their lifestyles-hopeless without Christ. It is called "Learning To Crawl" It starts out painting a picture of what life is like when all our hope is in whatever this sad little world can offer us-then with a song aptly titled "Turning" it starts to point the listener to hope in Christ-hmm, come to think of it, there are plenty of Americans who could use a listen or two to this story:) I have already started to write the second album as well. Along with Christian rock, the band will record praise and worship albums that are contemporary in style-but unique all at the same time. I think the sound will be "special" because along with the usual instruments that you find in a rock band, we will experiment with strings heavily like ELO did in it's heyday-but we will also use quite a bit of Japanese instruments as well, oh and there will be a harpsichord-there has to be a harpsichord! Welcome to our first post!

Hello and thanks for visiting our little corner of cyberspace! We are so excited about getting this started, even though it is just "baby steps", they are steps all the same, on our way to the dreams goal, and desires God has placed in our hearts for Friont Line Warrior Ministries, and the beautiful wonderful country of Japan and it's people. There are lots of exciting things going on with FLWM here in our early days. We are preparing for a mission trip to Tokyo in June-please be praying about this with and for us. There are plans for a Christian record lable, film production, and even Christian themed comics-yes I said comics-Japanese love their animation, we are going to examin every avenue possible to reach Japan with the good news.
